Mother-Son Photographers

Jakey has been saving his money for about a year to buy a DSLR camera.  Between mowing lawns, staining decks, and birthday & Christmas money, he saved enough to buy a Canon Rebel!  He is a sponge when it comes to learning about his new camera, photography techniques, and finding his way around Photoshop.  

I am excited to have the opportunity to share my photography passion with my boy.

I took Jakey down to the river for a photography field trip.

We took pictures of each other taking pictures.

Daisy

Jakey's Flower

This is a flower that Jakey found.  He put it in this cute little glass to take pictures of it with his new camera.  The glass was given to Jakey by my friend Tammi's mom, Carol.  

He always loved drinking out of it at her house so she gave it to him.  

Now, when other little kids come over they like to drink from it too.  

It also makes a nice little vase.

Smokey Sunset

We are surrounded by fires from the west, south, and east.  Pretty smokey!  

The night the Mancos fire started we saw this amazing sunset from our front yard.

Dane's Wedding

So this is the only pic I took this week.  

It's nothing great photographically because I took it with my phone.  But it is the only photo I took this week, thus I'm posting it here.  It's a nice memory photo from Dane's wedding.  Randy, Chyenne, and Dane have grown up together so this is a nice pic of the three of them on Dane's wedding day.

I did spend lots of time this week learning some new techniques on Photoshop and learning my way around the Photoshop Organizer.  Which was one of my goals when starting this project, so I'm happy with that!

Congratulations Dane.  I wish you a life long marriage full of joy and blessings!

Garden Planted!

Here's my garden, finally all planted!  Pepper plants, tomato plants, Jakey's cabbage plant, blackberry bush, zucchini, marigolds, and LOTS of seeds: beets, sugar snap peas, green onions, kale, four types of lettuce, sprouts, herbs, carrots, and cucumber.  

Please Lord, bless our garden!

Iceland Poppy

This poppy was smiling at me through my kitchen window one morning.  

And since it was calm and still, I grabbed my macro lens and went out to capture it.
