Twin Fawns

I followed these little guys and their mama awhile trying to get a good shot.
Then I got really lucky when they got stuck on sort of an island between two streets and they couldn't really go anywhere with me in front of them taking pictures and passing cars on the other side.  I was so excited that my hands were shaking like crazy.  I am honestly surprised that I came home with any pictures in focus!

Jakey's 10 Year Portraits

Heart Puddle

Saw this heart-shaped puddle on our nightly walk around the neighborhood.
I snapped a quick picture with my phone.
Then Jakey and I practically ran home to get our cameras.

Indian Trail Ridge

Another hike we did this weekend.
It amazes me how beautiful each hike is, yet each one is so very different.

We were at over 12,000 feet here!  A little higher up we had 360 degree views of the mountains.  We met a kid that was on his 28th of 29 days hiking the entire Colorado Trail!

Looking up from the trail.

Such amazing rock formations all along the trail.

Lake Hope Trail

For our 12 year anniversary, Les and I stayed in Telluride
and went on a day hike to Lake Hope.
These photos are just a small taste of the spectacular scenery
we enjoyed on our hike.

Dakota

Our neighbors' (and friends') little girl, Dakota turned one this month!
I took her first year portraits for her birthday present.  This is my favorite shot.
The dress was her mama's (Nicol's) when she was a baby.

My Garden

An updated picture of my garden as by request from my friend Patty.
I have already harvested some yummy lettuce, one tomato, parsley, and mint!
Yay!

Hunter & His Pawpaw

Tammy's parents are visiting from Kuwait.
So we did a photo session with Hunter, Brooklyn, and their grandparents.
This shot of Hunter with his Pawpaw just melts my heart every time I see it!

Magical Day in the Mountains

Les' cousin, Randy, and his family were visiting from Arizona.  So we took them on a hiking adventure near Silverton.  We hiked to a beautiful waterfall on the Silverton-Rico trail.  This trail is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful places on earth!

The trail is saturated with many different types of wildflowers.  It was so pretty!  This rosy paintbrush was one of my favorites.

On our way out we saw this big bull moose feeding in the water.  I was so mad at myself because I didn't bring my telephoto lens with me on the hike.  Oh well....still got this decent shot.
Our magical day ended with a full rainbow over the mountains that followed us for quite awhile.  And then to top it all off (as if it wasn't the most wonderful day already) a big brown bear crossed the highway right in front of us!
The bear didn't stop to pose for me though, so no pic of him :(
